Elemental Interview: Mico Rabuñal

Elemmental interview with Mico Rabuñal on January 8, 2020.

Mico Rabuñal: «Art is part of our existence as human beings, it is something essential like breathing»
THE ARTIST TELLS US ABOUT HIS SCULPTURAL WORK AND HIS IMAGINARY

The continue and stubborn passage of time has been always in the art work of Elena Martí: time and its impact in the matter… the time and the absences… the transience of our lives, and the resistant we oppose to last. Nature is not the aim, is the way. Elena Martí was selected in 2013 as “Artista per la Natura” by the “Institut Valencià d’Excursionisme i Natura” for her art works about landscapes using inks and oxides.

Mico Rabuñal has managed to bring to his field, with great mastery, a popular artistic movement where objects are easily recognized by an audience that quickly empathizes with those representations that are part of the childhood and day-to-day life of any person.

His work works as an aesthetic alert that highlights the importance of the consumer objects that surround us and our personal relationship with them. Rabuñal ironic with this emotional charge and makes it eternal, with a chisel blow, creating tactile sensations that have nothing to do with the hardness of the stone that works.
